You can renew or replace your adult passport up to nine months before it expires. When visiting the EU, however, your passport cannot be older than ten years at the time of entry. Furthermore, your passport must have at least three months validity after the date of your return. Other nations may need up to six months from the date of return.
As a result, we recommend that you check the validity of your passport using the government's online tool, as well as the criteria with your airline on their website.
Please keep in mind that during busy periods, the Passport Office may take up to ten weeks to process passport applications. As a result, we strongly advise you to verify expiry dates and apply for new or replacement passports as soon as possible.
Before travelling to the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland, or Liechtenstein, all travellers must verify the validity of their travel documents and ensure that their passports meet all the above requirements. Non-compliance with any of the entry conditions may result in refusal of admission, for which we cannot be held liable.

API ''Advance Passenger Information'. It is one of the ways airlines describe the need for you to give passport information for your booking. Most airlines now allow you to update this information on their websites, and if you are unable to do it online, you can call them to do so. This information is asked before to travel as part of the security procedures in place to strengthen and improve border controls and security.
If your airline requires online check-in, you must submit your Advance Passenger Information (API) before flying. This data is also known as APIS, Secure Flight, or e-Borders. Your airline will send you an email seeking this information, along with instructions on how to provide it.
Useful Information
When submitting your API details, your airline will require the following information:
• Full name (as it appears on your passport)
• Gender
• Date of birth
• Nationality
• Type of document
• Passport or travel document number
• Travel document country of issue
• Travel document expiry date
• If you are travelling outside of Europe, you will also need to provide
• Country of residence
• First night address in the destination you are travelling to
Please be careful when submitting your API. Incorrect or missing information may cause your journey to be delayed, either at check-in or at immigration. We cannot assume responsibility for faulty or missing data, and no refunds will be offered if you are unable to travel as a result.
How long your passport needs to be valid for depends on the country you are visiting.
For EU countries:
-Your Passport must not be older than 10 years on the day you enter the country of your holiday destination (check the 'date of issue')
