The Parador is located in the town of
Ciudad Rodrigo, declared a Historic-Artistic Site, which is less than one hour
away from Salamanca and 25 minutes away from the border with Portugal. It is in the heart of the region, from where
it is possible to visit places such as La Alberca and other villages in the
Sierra de Francia. The hotel occupies the old castle of Henry II of Trastámara
and dates back to the 14th century, where the three-storey keep stands out. The
castle is located next to the Águeda riverbed, within the wall that surrounds
the town, three minutes away from the Plaza Mayor.

Its spacious and bright rooms preserve the
style and decoration of the building, with wooden furniture, tiled floors and
some of them, with canopy beds.

The interior decoration of the hotel is
based on stone, wood and tiled floors typical of the Middle Ages. Its
restaurant offers a typical menu, based on delicious cold meats, succulent
roasts and the best Iberian hams.
