The hotel is the former Monastery of San
Pedro de Villanueva, with spectacular stone and wood rooms, decorated in an
elegant, warm and traditional manner. The Parador is two kilometres away from
Cangas de Onís and very close to the Picos de Europa Natural Park, the
Sanctuary and the Covadonga lakes.
Its rooms, spacious and cosy, are
integrated into the stone and wood style of the building. Outside, the hotel
has large gardens, meeting rooms and a children’s play area.
Its culinary specialities include pulses
such as verdinas (green beans) orfabes (beans), tender Asturian veal with
designation of origin, as well as fish from the caves near Ribadesella and
Llanes, all paired with the best ciders. It also has a “Cheese Bar”,
with an wide selection of Asturian cheeses.
