The new Amara hotel will be located in the Amathus seaside area, east of Limassol. The hotel will be under Stademos Hotels and it is an international brand of the luxury hotel chain.
The name AMARA comes from the Greek word "amarantos," meaning "everlasting." The resort will have a seaside beach location near the ancient site of Amathus and the city of Limassol. Cyprus has a fascinating history at the crossroads of civilizations—from the Iron Age through the Roman Empire to the Medieval era (when Cyprus was sold to the Knights Templar) and the Ottoman Empire. The resort’s design has been overseen by SB Architects, David Rockwell Studio and WA Interiors.
In news from Cyprus’ hotel scene, Limassol will be the setting for the island’s newest ultra-luxury hotel, AMARA. Scheduled to open in Spring of 2019, the will feature 207 lavish rooms and suites with private balconies overlooking Akrotiri Bay and the wider Mediterranean Sea.
The property will feature three celebrity chefs operating five restaurants, which should position the new hotel atop the Limassol gourmet gastronomy scene. The newest NOBU Matsuhisa Limassol will be joined by Ristorante Locatelli, of London-based Michelin-Starred Giorgio Locatelli, in addition to Armyra by Papaioannou, a dedicated seafood restaurant celebrating island living.
The name AMARA comes from the Greek word “amarantos,” meaning “everlasting.”
AMARA will also feature an on-site spa conceived as a holistic haven, to offer guests an extensive treatment menu. Additional facilities include a fully equipped gym, indoor heated pool, outdoor saltwater pool and an infinity pool overlooking the sea. Managing Director of Stademos Hotels PLC, Demos Demosthenous had this to say about the coming opening:
“We are delighted to be opening the new five-star AMARA in Limassol in early 2019. We are confident this design-led development will bring movement to both Amathus and neighboring areas, with every element meticulously tailored for the most selective travelers.”
The hotelier went on to express great pride in the fact AMARA will feature the two Michelin Star chefs.
AMARA’s accommodation options provide rooms starting at 45m2, and one-bedroom residential units starting at 90m2.
Situated just a few meters from Limassol’s cosmopolitan center and the famed royal ancient kingdom of Amathus, AMARA will be the latest and third development by luxury hospitality group Stademos Hotels. The design is being spearheaded by SB Architects, David Rockwell Studio and WA Interiors.
AMARA’s 207 guestrooms (including suites and residential apartments) will have views of the Mediterranean sea from private balconies. Facilities include a full spa, a fitness center, a ballroom, and multiple swimming pools: whether you want to loll in the outdoor saltwater pool, take in the views from the infinity pool overlooking the sea, or relax in the indoor heated pool.
The new 5-star hotel will have approximately 200 rooms and will be designed with the collaboration of an American company of architects. It is the second luxury hotel in Limassol under Stademos, following the operation of the Mediterranean Beach Hotel in Limassol, while one of the most renowned members of the Stademos family is the Elysium Hotel in Paphos.
