Agriturismo Vecchia Masseria is a typical and extraordinary rural building, a symbol of the peasant civilization dated 1856. Agriturismo Vecchia Masseria is surrounded by 2000 hectares of woods in the middle of a natural archeological park, on the Ganzaria mountain with a great view of Gela. It was built in the heart of Sicily by the Baron Guccione Andrea from Palermo with local materials becoming a big masseria where the peasants who worked the land could live. Bought in 1996 and wisely renovated by the Golino Family, Vecchia Masseria has come back from the past with all his beauty and splendour. The renovation started in 2000 and finished in 2002 with only eco-friendly materials and respecting the environment. Inside the masseria, the walls are decorated with water painting, stone, wood, Sicilian ceramic and wrought iron. Today, Vecchia Masseria is a 4 star azienda agriturisca owned and managed by Stefano Golino who is also the chef and his son Philippe Golino manager of this family business.
